Yesterday was a whirlwind and CRAZY day for us. We have been fortunate enough to have the Leonards and Scheer-Mixons come to our house for trick-or-treating for the last two years and we have been able to hit our neighborhood together like we have done since the kids were itty bitty. This year was a little tricky since the girls wanted to trick-or-treat twice...once with the Leonards and Scheer-Mixons then again with our neighborhood peeps. Not really do-able which presented a bit of a problem. We problem solved the best we could trying to make everyone happy.
Before we headed out to see our friends, we took a few pictures with our Half Angel/Half Devil...
...and our Baylor Cheerleader.
{As I was taking this picture, it hit me that I am not sure how Ashton will feel about Halloween next year as a middle schooler and this might be my last time to have them both dressed up for trick-or-treating}
The girls were so excited that Daddy added spider webs to our yard this year. Unlike the girls, I
prefer to have a not scary yard...I am good with the jack-o-lanterns and
girls' painted pumpkins. They really want our yard to be scary.
Since trick-or-treating twice was out of the question, we were able to meet up with the neighborhood peeps for some pictures before they went trick-or-treating and we headed to meet up with the Leonards and Scheer-Mixons. Landry was NOT happy we had to leave. Bless her heart, she was torn...as much as she wanted to trick-or-treat with Macy, Carly, GT, and Anna...she really didn't want to leave either. Sometimes it is hard being four.
Happy Halloween Shaddock Creek Peeps
After a quick photo session, we hopped in our car and drove to the Nangles house in Plano where the Leonards were hanging. They so sweetly let us crash their night. We have never trick-or-treated in Deer Field before and it was chaos! Just like at Christmas time, this neighborhood goes all out which makes people want to come check out the decorations. Now we know that Halloween is the same way...only at Halloween people and kids are out walking not just riding in their cars!
Before we went out for candy...we snapped a picture with the Leonards' Neighborhood Peeps. It was dark and the flashes of all the cameras were BRIGHT so it was nearly impossible to get a picture with all eyes open. There were some great costumes in the group.
Kieghan was super sweet and was "Landry's Buddy" all night. She made sure she didn't get left behind. Landry was in heaven and loved it!
It was a looooong day/night, but fun. We are so glad it all worked out and we are so glad the Leonards' peeps didn't mind us joining the fun. It was also fun for the Leonards since they haven't ever trick-or-treated with their school peeps. The girls got more candy they needed, but that is part of the fun of Halloween!
