Another Early Bday Celebration

Ready or NOT...here comes Ashton's 10th birthday! I am more on the not ready side!!

I am so torn...on one hand I am so excited for my precious Big Girl because she is so excited about this birthday... BUT....at the same time, watching her grow up is very difficult to do. She is doing it with such grace and I love the young lady she is! She seems more and more mature to me all the time and I seriously think I am in denial. How can it be that I am almost the mother of a ten year old?! My first born has been alive for almost a DECADE!!

She has  been bursting with excitement and giddy-ness over this birthday for months now. It's like she thinks her world is going to change over night just because she's turning 10. We know that turning ten is a big deal, and it is one of those monumental ages, so we wanted to make it an extra special birthday for her.

Since her birthday is on a Friday this year, and we always leave for Alabama on a Thursday night, she made it known that she did NOT want to be traveling on her birthday. She wanted to wake up in Alabama on her birthday. So we changed our plans around a bit and are leaving early tomorrow morning.

We combined America's birthday celebration with a little bit of Ashton's birthday celebration. We figured it would be easier to let her open her presents from us today rather than pack them all wrapped up to take with us in the car. So after breakfast this morning {and before the 4th of July festivities} we let her open her presents.

I really can't believe this girl is only 2 days away from turning TEN!!

I think it's safe to say that she was pretty happy with her gifts!

Landry was especially proud of the gifts she chose for her Sisser. I took her shopping and she looked at several things, but ultimately decided on some earrings and a necklace.  It is so cute to watch their precious relationship...they make me melt on a daily basis!

Two celebrations before her actual birthday isn't too bad.  Mommy and Daddy {so far} have survived both of them...hopefully this trend continues through to the big day!  I seriously could celebrate this precious girl every single day! I love her more than she will ever know!!
