Mother's Day

I am blessed more than I can possibly express. I have the privilege of being a Mommy to Ashton and Landry every single day and I wouldn't trade it for anything. They make me happier than I ever thought possible. They allow me to see the world in a totally different way. I had no idea I could ever love two little girls so much and I can't imagine my life without them. I don't know how I ever lived a day without my two precious daughters.

Mother's Day is one their favorite holidays to celebrate...I love seeing how excited they get and that is a direct result of their Daddy. I am so fortunate that my Hubs values and appreciates all that I do as a mom. I wouldn't change it for a second but at the same time, it is nice to know that he is grateful. He and the girls always put so much thought and enthusiasm into Mother's Day...and I am one truly grateful Momma!

My day started in the traditional Mother's Day way....sleeping in until around 9:30, then being greeted with two sweet smiley and giddy girls bursting through the door chanting "Happy Mother's Day Mommy!" {Hands down the best way to wake up!}

I was escorted out to the kitchen with my eyes closed until my buns hit the chair. They did an excellent job navigating...I didn't bump into anything!

When I was told I could open my eyes, this is what I saw...
Hand-made cards f rom my girls, my Hubs' homemade french toast and bacon....yumm-o!

I cannot even come close to expressing how much I love these two sweet and precious girls!

Landry wanted to tell me all about everything she "wrote" on my card!
Then it was time for Ashton's card...it was so cute and made me giggle! I love her!

After breakfast, we spent the rest of our morning doing exactly what I wanted! I had a list of things that I had been asking Bobby to do and he said, "today is your day and I will do the things you wanted to get done!"  I was in heaven. We got lots of projects checked off the list...especially the girls desk area! We even have a paint color chosen!

After Landry finished her nap, the girls and Daddy had one last mission to go on. When they returned, I was once again led out to the patio with my eyes closed. When I opened them, I was saw the most beautiful hand painted flower pot on the planet, filled with gorgeous flowers! I told them I wanted something they made and they nailed it perfectly! This is hands down the best gift of the day. I did love the watch they picked out, but this flower pot means so much more to me! It is the centerpiece on the patio and I smile every time I look out there!

They grilled me a delicious dinner and we relaxed on the patio while the girls played...it was the perfect day! Thank you Ashton, Landry, and Bobby....I am a lucky Mommy and I know I was meant to be a wife and Mommy.

Mother's Day isn't just about me...the girls and I had fun coming up with things for the Mamo and Grammy in our lives too. They are both pretty  difficult to buy for and we know that Mamo loves anything with a picture of the girls on it and we know how much Grammy loves to get pedicures...so we went with those two things as gifts.

Mamo collects piggy banks for her coins so we decided to make her a vase/bank. We thought she could use it to hold coins. The girls chose the colors for the vase and used tissue paper to complete their masterpiece. To top it off, Ashton came up with a darling poem to put inside.

Mamo
Landry and I made you this vase
Which will surely bring a smile to your face!
We thought it could hold money
You get from your honey.
It could also hold a penny
Or two, since I’m sure you’ll find many.
While you’re tossing in your nickels,
Think of our giggles that come from tickles.
This special vase can also hold dimes,
And we hope it makes you smile many times.
All of this rhyming is a fun way to say
Happy Mother’s Day 2012

We sent Grammy a gift card for a pedicure but she texted us a picture and said she used it along with the one Auntie Megan's family gave her to buy herself a new pair of Sperry shoes. She is in love with her new comfy shoes and we are so glad we were able to get her something she will use a lot-and she does!

Mother's Day was a fantastic day...I cherish everyday that I get to be a mom...I think I was totally meant to be a mommy to my girls. Even though there are days when they drive me crazy, (I know I drive them crazy too) there are so many other outstanding moments that totally make up for the "crazy" days!
