Today our Big Girl had her first Field Day at her new school. She was pumped because Field Day is always so much fun and she couldn't wait to participate as a 4th Grader!
The PE teachers had so many different activities planned for the kiddos...
Landry and I rolled up just as the first event was about to start...the Sprint Race with the baton.
As badly as LP wanted to participate (she knows she has to wait until she is in Kindergarten) she did such a fantastic job of watching and being Ashton's cheerleader! I was so proud of her!!
They did a little Potato Sack Racing, and some 3 Legged Racing...
...we took some cute pictures of her with her friends in her class in between events.
She even stopped and posed with her Lil Sisser (which made it all worth it for Landry).
The Football Kick was hilarious! I am not sure Ashton has kicked a football very many times in her life and it showed. I was proud of her for going in front of her class and trying something new even though it was a little embarrassing. For the record, there were only about 6 kids in her class who COULD actually kick the football and they were all boys but one.
Hula Hooping was TOTALLY her thing. She rocked it and won the hula hoop contest even with having to do all kinds of tricks like jump and down, hands on your head, Macarena, go down on one knee and come back up. It was crazy and impressive!!
The last event Landry and I watched was the Jump Roping.
We stayed for about an hour or so, then Landry and I headed home. It was hot and Landry was getting antsy since all she was able to do was sit and watch (that is hard for a 4 year old to do). Ashton was so glad that we came to cheer her on, we loved seeing how Field Day was at Pink, and seeing her "do her thing" with her classmates. She loves school and every part of it ... I love seeing her let loose, be athletic, and have FUN! As we were heading back to the car, it hit me that Ashton only has ONE more Field Day...sigh!
