Another "First" For Our List!

We have been watching our "BG" play softball since she was five years old...she started with t-ball and has loved it ever since. We have loved watching her grow and learn from the sport, but the best part is watching the joy on her face when she is playing. This last year she decided to "take a break from dance" and focus on softball. And now she has decided she would like to tryout for Select Softball.

We know she is ready for a little more competitive play, but not sure if Select is the route to go. After she expressed interest in trying out we encouraged her to do it. She has never had to tryout for anything before and we told her it would be a good experience.  We also told her that if she didn't make it, that it was okay and we could always try out again next year if she wanted to. It didn't take her very long to decide she wanted to attend the tryouts for the Texas Twist. I am so proud of her for stepping out of her comfort zone but also anxious and nervous at the same time.

So today was the first day of tryouts....there will be three tryouts before they make a decision. I snapped a few pictures of our girl  warming up in the backyard before she and Daddy left for the ball field.

Here goes our Big Girl....hopefully she'll be a part of the Texas Twist Softball team!

We are so proud of her no matter what happens at tryouts. We love that she is trying something new, we love that she has a passion for softball and that she has decided this is "her thing", we love the joy that is plastered across her face when she plays, watches or talks about softball!  We love this girl and we love that we have the privilege of being her parents!!

Do your best and knock their socks off Ashton Raley!!

*She came home from tryouts and said, "so that was a tryout...it really just seemed like a regular practice!" I love it! Bobby kept sending this anxious momma texts throughout the tryout tonight letting me know she was doing. So now we wait and see....
