spring break :: day seven

As soon as we finished breakfast, we went to the Wharf and made our almost daily trip to Wal Mart! We had heard there were some fun things to do at the Wharf, but apparently none of the fun stuff starts until much later in the day. We got there right at 10 o'clock which is when the shops were supposed to open, but only a handful actually were. We browsed in a few and decided it wasn't that great so we went back to the beach!

The best part of the Wharf trip was the little gecko the girls spotted!

Once we got to the beach, we found out that it was "sandcastle day". The Gees are pros at this sandcastle stuff and they had already started the mound of wet sand. Everyone pitched in adding to the mound while the idea of what kind of sandcastle presented itself! Since we were the rookies, we just followed their lead.

The kiddos found a crab and named it "Sandy". They dug a nice big hole for her and released into her new home!
After they watched her for a bit, they went back to boogey boarding and playing. {They eventually let her go when they thought she might die}
Here is what the mound looked like before it became a sandcastle/sand sculpture.

It was decided that since we had seen dolphins in the water almost every single day, we would build a dolphin. Miss Christine and her oober creative mind went to work on the dolphin and Miss Christen was her assistant.  The Bryce Fam just observed in awe and took pictures!

Here is how the dolphin turned out! It was awesome. We had so many people stop and take pictures of it and with it. It was super cool! We were totally impressed with the finished product!

Daddy wanted to take each of the girls out far into the water...Ashton wanted NO part of it and Landry couldn't get out far enough!

We couldn't believe how many dolphins we saw and how close they were.  I tried to get a good picture of them, but I didn't have the right lens on. You can at least get the idea of how close they were. Bobby was standing at the edge of the water.
Dophins are so beautiful and we are so intrigued by them. Especially since Bobby and I learned so much about them when we were in the Bahamas.
Our Little Beach Babies!

We got some pictures of the kiddos on the dolphin before they wrecked it. The Gees and The Wrights said it is always better if you wreck your own work then to have someone else wreck it. And if you don't wreck it before you leave for the night, it will be destroyed when you come back.

They had fun destroying it, then they decided it would be fun to "surf" down the mound on the boogey board.
And yes, even Landry wanted to have a turn and she didn't love that Ashton and I had to help her because no one else had help. I know this child and I didn't want her to get hurt!

After we finished our day on the beach, we went to the pool at the condo for another special birthday party. Today was Jocelyn's 6th birthday and she wanted her party at the beach too. So we had a pizza party at the pool to celebrate her day.
The birthday girl and her princess cupcakes.

After pizza, presents, and swimming, we all headed back up to our rooms for an early night. {or so we thought!} Our night had way more drama than we wanted!

We were getting ready to put our freshly bathed girls into bed when the drama found us! Landry was standing on the bed and wanted to jump to Bobby so he could catch her. He said no and at the same I was telling her to sit down before she fell and hurt herself. As I was in in mid sentence, her foot slipped off the bed and she fell onto the floor...from a standing position with one arm tucked under her and one arm to land on!

As soon as it happened, Bobby said "oh that's not good!" and Ashton proceeded to freak out! Both girls were hysterical! I had to take Ashton out of the room to try and calm her down and convince her that Landry was fine.

Luckily for us, we were with friends so we took Ashton downstairs to the Gees and she stayed with them while we found a place to take Landry that had x-ray capabilities. We have been through two broken arms with Ashton so we knew, Landry more than likely had one too!

We took our poor girl to an urgent care place to get checked out.
{This is the only picture I snapped...we were in the waiting room and this was the only time I had the chance.}

After suffering through an hour and a half with no pain medicine other than Tylenol, and some excruciating x-rays later, we were sent home with no definite answer. They told us they didn't see anything, but that didn't mean anything since their equipment for reading the x-rays wasn't that good.  They told us they would have the radiologist at the hospital look at her x-rays in the morning and let us know if he saw anything. Basically we should have taken her to the ER at the hospital instead of the Urgent Care place. You live and learn! We have never had an injury on vacation before! We went back to the condo and had a horrible night...that little girl was in a lot of pain and miserable!
