LP's Stats

Landry had her 4 Year Well Check today. THE 4 Year Well Check...the one that is severely dreaded because there are shots involved...more shots than she has had since she was a baby. We discovered after the flu shot in October, she is not a fan of shots. With this bit of info, we knew this would not be a "fun" appointment for her.  So when I scheduled it, I immediately asked Bobby if he could put it on his calendar and come with me. If I had to endure this one, I was sure I needed the moral support.

Well....like most plans, when you have them all laid out nice and neat, there always seems to be a wrinkle that appears out of no where. And that was certainly the case here.

As mentioned in an earlier post, Ashton came down with a fever last Saturday while I was away on my "Blog Weekend 2012".  Her fever didn't go away so I took her to the doctor on Monday morning. He told us if her fever was still hanging around on Wednesday, he wanted her to come back in. It didn't go away, so we had to go back in. The visit on Wednesday wasn't a particularly fun one since they did a strep test, a flu test, and some blood work. Both kids were hysterical and crying (even though nothing was happening to LP) during all of that. Needless to say, after tagging along to the doctor twice with Big Sis, Lan-Lan wasn't super pumped about her well check visit.

We did A LOT of pep talking...and I mean A LOT! We chose not to mention the fact that she was going to get shots. Without knowing that, she was already saying that she was going to hide from us when we came to pick her up from school. I can't imagine what it would have been like had she know in advance about the shots. We told her everything they would do except the part about the shots and she ended up being good with going.

Ashton still had a fever on Friday and was home from school so this is where our wrinkle came into play. One parent needed to stay home with our Big Girl and one parent needed to take our Little Girl to her well visit. Landry decided she wanted Daddy to go.

Daddy was a trooper and so was Lan-Lan P. He picked her up early from school and headed to the doctor's office. She was her usual self and did great....even with the shots. She cried when the nurse came in but stopped before she gave her the shots. Go figure!

She got the goody hook up...lollipop, sticker, and an extra special pinwheel they give to the four year olds for this visit!  I am so proud of both her and her Daddy. Bobby got home and said, "That's it...I'm out! That was rough. Thank goodness we are done with visits like that until she is a teenager!"

She enjoyed a special lunch date with her Daddy to Subway for being a good girl at her appointment. When she bounced in the door, she was so excited to tell us all about it and most importantly she needed to show us all the band aids on her leg!

She was in L-O-V-E with her pinwheel!
Here are her 4 year stats:
weight: 36.8 pounds {75%}
height: 41.8 inches {95%}

We are so proud of how well she did.

Here is a funny story  the grandparents will enjoy...

She talked his ear off and told him her whole life story as well as Ashton's!  At one point he asked her if she could stand on one leg....she did it with ease then he asked her if she could switch and do the other leg. After she switched, she started talking to him and was telling him something and talked for quite a while on one leg. He said, "Well, I think standing on one leg and talking doesn't seem to be something you have a problem with. You're good!"

She is a talker that is for sure!!

This was a horrible visit for us too. Those 5 shots were AWFUL! Dr Nail told Reese she didnt get any more shots until she was 12 (unless she is sick) and she has that factoid committing to memory:) I bet LP was hilarious talking and standing on one leg...funny little chatter box:)
