Yesterday, in addition to celebrating Bailey's, Cash's and Gunnar's birthday, we celebrated mine too! My three favorite people made me feel so special and my day was absolutely perfect!
First of all, I can't believe I am now a 36 year old woman. That sounds so old to me, but my girls are adamant that I am not old. Gotta love kids. One day they will think I am ancient, so I am going to soak up these moments when I am not old to them!
You know your a momma when your birthday is a big deal because your kids want it to be a big deal. The girls love everything about birthdays and they especially love making our birthdays stand out. Watching their excitement makes my birthday fun for me!
They went with Daddy earlier in the week to pick out birthday cards for me and the girls were super thrilled to give me the cards they chose.
They also went shopping with Daddy and decided to get me some sparkly Toms shoes. Those little girls were bursting with excitement as I opened their gift. They told me they thought the sparkly shoes were the prettiest and that is why they picked them. Ashton was also pleased as punch to have been the present wrapper.
A birthday picture with my girls!
A birthday picture with my hubs....I love this guy and I love that I have celebrated 19 of my 36 birthdays with him!!
On my actual birthday we just spent a low key evening at home since we had cake and pizza for Bailey's birthday. It was perfect and I was glad to stay in out of the rain snuggling with my three favorite peeps!
Today we continued my birthday celebration and went out to dinner with Auntie Heather and Brodie. After we stuffed our tummies with yummy Mexican food, we came home to have some delicious homemade chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting made by Bobby and the girls.
{Landry didn't want the peanut butter frosting....so she went with purple instead}
Even though having my birthday means I am getting older (and some days I feel REALLY old) I have learned to embrace my birthday and have fun with it. I cherish every moment I get to spend with my family and friends and I love seeing the excitement in the girls' eyes in the days leading up to my birthday. I love the smiles that are plastered across their faces during the celebration, I love the bajillion "happy birthday mommy" wishes I get in a day from the girls. I love the "I love yous" and I love the BEST birthday hugs ever.
Thank you Ashton, Landry and Daddy for my wonderful birthday and making feel so special!
