Pinkalicious

Yesterday I had a special date with Landry. I love being able to spend time with the girls individually doing fun things. This time our date also included two of Landry's best friends, Reese and Elyse. Last year Miss Becky, Miss Susan and I took the girls to see Elmo Live. We all had such a great time that we decided we needed to do it again, so we made plans to take the girls to see Pinkalicious the play. The girls love the book, so we thought it would be a neat experience for them to see it on stage.

We didn't tell the girls until just a few days before....when we did tell them, they reacted with a lot of squealing!

Daddy and Ashton had a fun date planned at the movies. Unfortunately, right as Landry and I were about to walk out the door, Ashton got sick. They didn't get to go the movies, but Daddy took very good care of Ashton while Mommy and Landry were gone.

With Ashton all set up in Mommy's and Daddy's bed, Landry and I headed off to see Pinkalicious!

The girls loved the show! Landry sat in my lap and soaked in the experience. This was her first actual play and I was impressed that she made the connections with the differences between the book and the play.

After the show was over, the cast came out into the hallway and signed autographs. Landry didn't really know what to make of that. She just handed over her program, told them her name and watched them sign their character's name and pass it down the line. When she got her program back, she wanted to know what  they wrote. She thought it was pretty neat that girl who played Pinkalicious called her by her name when she was giving her program back.

After the play was over, all the girls wanted was a snack. They each chose a yummy ice cream treat which was the perfect ending to our fun Mommy-Little-Girl Date.

We are hoping to go back in April to see Fancy Nancy!!
