Pumpkin Carving

As I might have mentioned before, our October has been CRAZY! We didn't even make it to the pumpkin patch until this past Tuesday and that wasn't even really a patch.

Then, we didn't have a chance to carve pumpkins like we usually do. Normally we have pizza while we carve pumpkins...but this year  pizza was not in the plan unless we wanted to have it for breakfast! The only chance we had to carve pumpkins was Sunday morning...the day before Halloween. At least we got to have Mamo, Papo, and Mamo-the-Great here when we did the pumpkins!

Mamo and Papo  brought the girls some fun Halloween treats. One of the things they brought was a set of press on nails. So Mamo had put Ashton's nails on the night before, she didn't want to get pumpkin goo on her nails. This is why she is wearing plastic gloves...she was in LOVE with her black spider web nails and didn't want to mess them up! Not sure what the dramatic look was for but I loved it!
Landry was pretty proud of her pumpkin and couldn't wait to get started!
Landry wanted NO PART of the pumpkin once Daddy cut it open. She kept her distance and kept telling us it was "disgusting". No matter how hard we tried, she wouldn't touch it or even get close to it!
Ashton on the other hand, was a PRO. She was all over it and wanted to do it by herself.
Papo helped Daddy with the pumpkins. I love these pictures of Daddy and his Daddy!

Yep...this is where she sat while the cleaning out took place...she watched from a distance!

Once the pumpkin's "lid" was back on, she was happy to come help Daddy with carving.
Ashton loved the face she chose for her jack-o-lantern!
Landry's Jack-o-Lantern {Yes, we realized after it was carved that one of the hands was backwards}

Both girls were happy with how the jack-o-lanterns turned out...they definitely looked cute sitting on our porch! We loved being able to share this pumpkin carving with Mamo, Papo, and Mamo-the-Great!
