College Week!

Our Big Girl just wrapped up her fifth College Week! I have said it before and I will say it again....I LOVE that our school district puts a huge emphasis on college. Ashton is very aware of what college is and how many different colleges there are out there...this is thanks both to school and to the amount of college athletics she has been around her entire life.  I love that she has been thinking about and talking about college since she was in Kindergarten!

Ashton was an old pro at College Week when she was at Carroll, but since this was her first one at a  new school, she wasn't sure how much would be the same (each school in Frisco gets to choose their own themed days). She was ready to dive right into College Week as a 4th grader in a new school. {I am so proud of how well she is handling all the changes...she doesn't like change and she is handling it with a smile and a good attitude}

Here is a look at Miss Ashton in all her College Week Themed days...

~Monday~
"Our Future Looks Bright"
(Wear sunglasses and bring your decorated pennant to display in the halls.)
Teachers decorated their doors with info from their college, and talked about their colleges.

~Tuesday~
"Team Spirit"
(Wear a shirt of your favorite team.)
Teachers brought in something from their college, discussed it w/students, then displayed it in the room.

~Wednesday~
"Hats Off To A Great Future"
(Wear a hat of your choice.)

~Thursday~
"Run To Your Goal"
(Wear sweats and tennis shoes. It was too hot for sweatpants so she wore her sweat shorts instead)
They discussed goals, not only in the classroom but long term goals as well.

~Friday~
"College Spirit Day"
(Wear a college shirt and students share their pennants.)
{and just because she wanted to get her picture taken too for her pretend college week at her school}

Ashton soaked up all the information that was given to her at her school. She loved seeing how many colleges were represented and especially loved when she saw other kids wearing Baylor or Alabama gear. We are flooded with plenty of UT, A&M, and OU fans so it was nice to see other schools represented.

Ashton is rockin' the hat!! <3 She's so pretty! Love that Landry was hamming it up in that last picture.

It's so great that they put emphasis on college. It's NEVER too early, as we know.
