Mudder's Day 2011

Mother's Day (or Mudder's Day as Landry calls it) is a HUGE deal around here. Daddy has done a good job of getting the girls excited about this special day.  They were all very excited for this day to arrive!

They LOVE picking out cards for Grammy and Mamo.  They LOVE going with Daddy to pick out cards for me. Ashton LOVES having a special surprise that she gets to keep secret until the big day and Landry, well she loves TRYING to keep the secret. All she knows is that Daddy and Ashton are excited so she wants to be excited right along with them.

Mother's Day to me isn't about the cards or presents. What I love the most is the millions of kisses and hugs I get from the three people who made me a Mommy. I love hearing my girls' sweet voices tell me that they love me a million times and that I am the best Mommy EVER! I  love hearing them tell me Happy Mother's Day over and over all day long.  I love that I get to spend every single second of every single day being a mommy. I am so privileged to have these two little girls as my daughters and I get to take care of them. I am one lucky Momma!

This "Mudder's Day" was changed up a little bit from what has been done in past years. They let me sleep in until 9:30 then it was time for us all to get ready for a special Mother's Day Brunch at Mattito's. I have mentioned to my hubs numerous times that we need to try brunch at Mattito's sometime so he thought Mother's Day would be a good day to do it. I am not gonna lie...I was teensy bit disappointed that they didn't make me my traditional French Toast breakfast, but I was excited about brunch!

As soon as I woke up I was immediately led to the couch where there were 3 pink gift bags waiting. One of them I knew about ahead of time because my sweet little 3 year old who is definitely my child accidentally and very innocently told me one of my presents.

This is a funny little story that I want to make sure I document. Bobby took the girls on a "mission" last Sunday and he texted me and said "there is a less than one percent chance that Landry will  be able to keep a secret". I cracked up because when it comes to gifts, it is very hard for me to keep from telling the person what it is.  Anyway, she made it from Sunday to Wednesday before she let it slip. It was very innocent, I was putting on my make up and she saw my little bottle of perfume and asked me where the big bottle was. Oops!

After opening my cards and presents and lots of hugs and kisses, it was time for us to all get ready for brunch.

I do have to say that we will NEVER go to brunch at Mattito's on a special day again. The way they ran it was a total and chaotic mess! They don't take reservations, but they do take what they refer to as call ahead seating....Bobby called and got that all set up, but  we still had to wait over an hour to get seated. The girls were restless and starving! Needless to say, they were happy campers once we were seated.

While we waited, we whipped out my little camera and took some pictures...

After Daddy took all the other pictures, Ashton decided she needed to have her turn behind the camera.

I absolutely love being a mom and I am blessed with two spectacular little girls and a husband who appreciates my role as their Mommy. They made me feel like a queen and there is no title in the world that I would rather have than M-O-M-M-Y!  I will cherish this title forever...I am blessed beyond measure!
