Moving on the the second part of our Easter Sunday....
One thing we always do every spring is take pictures of the girls in the Texas Bluebonnets. We wanted to make it a BryceLeonardScheer thing this year since it has been so long since we did it with all SIX kiddos, but we just couldn't get everyone's schedules to mesh. So we decided that we would all just do it on our own. We knew that today was going to be our best chance so since the girls were already dressed in Easter outfits, it was the perfect opportunity.
Before we loaded up and headed out to our Bluebonnet spots, I took the girls outside our apartment and snapped some pictures of them in their Easter outfits. I do have to say that even though the colors I chose aren't traditional Easter colors, I love how they coordinate together and I just knew they would look so good amidst the Bluebonnets!
Yes...that is a stick in Landry's hand and we had to have ONE picture with her now found "friend"
Again with the closed-ish eyes on Landry
After our photo shoot, we went to our Bluebonnet spot ready for some more pictures. We rolled up and there were NO Bluebonnets. None. Nada. Zilch. So we went to another spot and there weren't any there either. We came to the conclusion that we missed them this year. We didn't have as much rain as we usually do so they didn't last as long this year. Bummer....big fat bummer.
I knew the Leonards were planning on trying to get some pictures in the bluebonnets too so I texted Miss Jodi and told her the sad news. Leave it to us to try and make the best of things so we met at Chili's for an early impromptu dinner. It ended up being a fantastic afternoon/evening and the girls were so excited to be in each other's company! And since Miss Jodi and I both had our cameras with us, we took the opportunity to be the Mommarazzi.
I love, love, love these pictures of the girls!!! And in case you were wondering, no Jodi and I didn't plan on the girls matching! Great minds think alike and the scary thing is that this sort of thing happens a lot!
The happiness and laughter oozing from these pictures is priceless. They had so much fun!
Landry's eyes closed....
...and after we told her to open her eyes!
We are glad the Leonard4 met us for an impromptu dinner even though they had been out in the wind all afternoon celebrating with their family. {Please pardon the off center picture I took for them}
Well, we didn't get any bluebonnet pictures, but we did get the BEST {Not} Bluebonnet pictures we have ever taken. I am pretty sure this was how things were supposed to work out since we couldn't make it a BryceLeonardScheer thing this year.
