Yesterday after we watched Carly play soccer, we grabbed some lunch and squeezed in the Annual Frisco Easter Egg-stravaganza Hunt before Ashton's softball game. The last time we did this, Landry was just a bitty thing hanging on me in the Baby Bjorn all covered up and Ashton was 5 and in Kindergarten. Now Landry is 3 and Ashton is 8.5.
I wanted to make sure we got this in since we knew Landry would be into it and we aren't sure if Ashton will still think it is cool to go egg hunting next year. We wanted them to have at least one memory of them doing it together.
It was probably the windiest day ever. I seriously thought that Landry was going to fly away if we didn't have a hold of her. We had to ditch the grass in the baskets because of the wind but that just made more room for the eggs!
Ashton and I went to the field for the 7-9 year olds while Daddy took LP to the field for 3-4 year olds. Daddy did a good job taking pictures of Landry during her hunt.
The city of Frisco had over 60,000 eggs out there for the kiddos to hunt.
Just before they started, Landry turned to Bobby and said "Daddy, I sink I need to take off my shoes, I can do it better wifout my flip flops on". And she slipped off her flip flops and was ready to go.
She knew exactly what to do....she had a total blast!
She was picking up 2 and 3 eggs at a time to get as many as she could into her basket!
I love how her toes were curled up and you can see her shadow all while grabbing the eggs!
She filled that basket in no time!
Ashton was a little more conservative with her egg hunting. Before they started, I knew she didn't like the marshmallow egg things so I told her not to get too many of those so she went for the plastic eggs instead, but decided not to fill her basket.
The girls had a ton of fun even though the wind was a bugger. They couldn't wait to open some of their eggs to see what kinds of goodies were in there. I am hoping this wasn't the last year Ashton hunts eggs, but if it was, then at least we were able to make the best of this one.
