Open House Starring Ashton Raley!

Last night we had a very special night at Ashton's school.  A night that we all look forward to every year...it was Open House 2011--Third Grade Edition!

Daddy was out of town for work so he had to miss out for the first time ever...I am not  quite sure who was more bummed...ARB or Daddy.  We did our best to get pictures of everything for him so he could see all her important stuff, luckily we were able to bring home all of her work for him to see in person when he got back from California.

We walked in the front doors and were immediately greeted with the third grade display board complete with "The Keys to Success in 3rd Grade". They were super cute. Ashton's key said, "Have fun!"

{This is 4th Grade's display board, but I loved it so I took a picture of it
As I was looking at this, it all of a sudden hit me that this will be our last Open House at Carroll and that Ashton won't have anything displayed on the 4th grade board next year.

As we were walking down the halls to the 3rd grade pod, we passed this picture of Ashton in the main hall from when she was in Kindergarten the year the school opened. She was bitty...and after this year, I won't get to see this picture as I walk to her classroom anymore.

Still on our way to her pod, we walked by the Art room and on the display board out in the hall, was Ashton's "Starry Night"...this is her first piece to be displayed out in the hall for Open House! She was so excited about this one!

Her class researched the African Savannah and Ashton was able to choose which animal she wanted to do.
Ta-Dah....we arrived at her desk! It was neatly set up and ready for our girl to show us her stuff.
I absolutely L*O*V*E watching her face light up as she showed her work to me. She was so proud of everything!  I was one proud momma!
She wrote the cutest poem about herself and drew a fantastic picture of our family. Daddy is my favorite person that she drew...love it!
This was her diorama of the Beluga Whale that she made all by herself!
She worked hard researching and taking notes for her oral and written presentation on the Beluga Whale. She scored a 95% and her teacher even video taped her performance so we could watch it! Technology is fabulous these days!
I am so  proud of Ashton Raley! She did so many wonderful things and I only posted my faves! I  love watching her in her classroom and I love watching her show off her hard work!

Oh my goodness, I missed this post. And I'm so glad I just saw it b/c I LOVE LOVE open house! I remember them like YESTERDAY, and the pride I felt as a kid! I loved showing off my classroom, teacher, and work! I'm so super impressed with Ashton's work, my goodness, it's fantastic! Her artwork is REALLY good, and the diorama! Ahh! I remember doing those! She looks so darling in her little shirt and scarf, with those sparkly eyes. What a fun night, I'm sure Daddy was so happy to see the pics and Ashton was thrilled to explain every one of them!!
