We spent the third day of our trip doing more of the same. The girls played while us grown folks took turns running errands and finishing up some last minute shopping.
The girls loved watching some Christmas movies with their super comfy blankets.
And then after dinner, we bathed the girls and got them ready for a special treat...
We loaded everyone up in the cars and headed to the Botanical Gardens to look at the Christmas Lights display. They were super excited since this is one of their most favorite traditions at home.
We had to take two cars so Landry and the boys rode in Papo's truck while the three of us big girls rode in Mamo's car.
Mamo was our wonderful driver. Every summer when we come visit we always go to the botanical garden and every summer they have a different theme. We were all pretty excited to see this place all decked out with Christmas lights.
I think everyone else in Huntsville was just as excited as we were. The line to get in was way long and we hadn't even considered there would be a line. Since we had to wait so long to even get in, Landry was pretty much done being in her car seat by the time we made through the entrance gate. And then she had to go potty so that was all her mind could focus on. She did like some of the lights but two hours is a long time for a little girl to be buckled in when the car is hardly moving.
Ashton on the other hand loved every single second of the lights. She ooooohed and ahhhhhed over all the lights. I have never in my life seen so many different lights. There was everything you could possibly imagine. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the girls' car.
Here are a few of the lights we saw on our ride through the gardens...
These are so appropriate since Huntsville is the home of Space Camp!
After the boys made a quick stop at Walgreens for Landry to potty we all headed home to put the girls to bed and then us grown folks did what we always do....played some cards, drank some wine, and watched the bowl games that were on. It was another fabulous day!
