Christmas in Alabama...Day 1

Christmas 2010 was spent in Alabama this year. We usually like to have Christmas at our house, but this year Mamo, Papo and Uncle Todd invited us to spend it with them. They knew that we were having a "nontraditional" Christmas since our house is on the market and we aren't decorating like normal. It didn't take much arm twisting on our part to say yes...we feel bad for the girls and I am not gonna lie, it made me sad not being able to enjoy all that comes with the holiday season.

The girls were so excited!  Mamo and Papo had lots of fun things planned for the girls and I am pretty sure it was difficult to tell who was more excited--the grandparents or the girls.

After a three hour stop in Texarkana getting the tire replaced thanks to an s-hook that was in the road on our way to Alabama, we made it safely last night. We had planned on arriving around dinner time but ended up arriving at around 10 instead.  Needless to say the girls were wired when we arrived and it took them a bit to unwind before we put them to bed so it was a late night for them.

When the girls woke up this morning, it didn't take them long to find the stash of toys in addition to the few new little treats Mamo and Papo had for them.  They played and played and us big girls ran some errands while Lan-Lan napped.

Tonight we  had dinner at Daddy and Uncle Todd's favorite sushi place and the girls loved it because we ate in this special room with these neat little chairs...not to mention Ashton had shrimp and Landry devoured almost an entire order of edamame all on her own.  And once we got home, the girls helped make the dough for the Christmas cookies.

The girls love to cook/bake so this was an extra special treat to do it with Mamo and Papo!

I love that you got to spend Christmas week with the Bryce's, what a treat! Sometimes it's more of a break for Mama just to have those extra hands and eyes (and I know Landry and Jagger need them, ha!)! That last picture is serious cuteness!
