As I mentioned before, we had a bit of a mishap with Landry's jack-o-lantern. You see, when we got home on Sunday night after the BryceLeonardScheer pumpkin carving festivities it was a bit of a rush to get the kids bathed and in bed that we just put her pumpkin on the counter in our kitchen. Well, when Monday morning rolled around and we had to head out for swimming lessons at 8:30, I was in a bit of a rush to get the house "show ready" before we left just in case (otherwise, if it wasn't ready, we would have someone want to come by because that is how things happen) we had a showing before we got home. In the midst of my rush, I set LP's jack-o-lantern on the patio and off we went.
Well, when we got home I sorta forgot to move the pumpkin out of the direct sunlight...so that is where it sat until Tuesday when Daddy went out to get ARB's pumpkin. And by that time, the poor thing was ruined...
I felt absolutely horrible, and my sweet 8 year old tried to make me feel better by telling me that I can't do everything and I it was an accident and that she was sure Landry would understand....bless her sweet little heart! So Daddy said he would carve her another one after the girls were in bed and Landry would never know...bless his heart! I love that man and the Daddy he is!
So tonight, when I got home from bunco (he waited so I could take a picture, he knows me so well) he went to gutting and carving LP's second pumpkin. Landry had no idea we had to carve a second pumpkin and all was well!
Jack-o-lantern numero dos....finished and looking a lot like the first.
And with a candle in it....
And a picture of both girls' jack-o-lanterns together ready for Sunday night!
Crisis averted thanks to Daddy!
