Today was the last of day of school before Winter Break for Little Miss Ashton Raley. That can only mean one thing....the Winter Celebration! Ashton was super excited and has been counting down the days until this fun day arrived.
Her party was 45 minutes long this year and it was jam packed with LOTS of stuff. Daddy stayed at home working while Landry took her nap so I could go and help out at Ashton's party. Ashton loves when I can come up and I try to make it to all of the major things since I am not able to go weekly...yet. I was busy helping and could only get a few pictures.
When the kiddos came in from recess we had the room all set up and ready to go. First on the agenda, split the kids into four groups and "Make A Snowman" out of a classmate. It is similar to the Mummy Wrap game using crepe paper. They had accessories for the finishing touches and certificates for each group. It was fun and the kids loved it.
Next on the agenda...Winter Pictionary using the white boards and dry erase markers. I was so impressed with how well the kids could draw...and they are super fast guessers.
Moving right along to....AN INDOOR SNOWBALL FIGHT! Yep you read that correctly...an indoor snowball fight. I thought this was going to be disasterous, but the kids followed the rules extremely well. There was a tape line in the middle of the floor which they were not to cross over to the opposing teams side under any circumstances. If they did, Mrs. B was going to GIVE the other team three snowballs. So for 3 entire minutes, the kids threw tissue paper snowballs across the line. The team with the most snowballs on their side lost the game. I think it was pretty even. The kids had a TOTAL blast and it was so fun to watch!
Then it was time for the book exchange....Ashton loved the book she scored and she really loved the book her teacher gave each student as a gift.
The final activity was making a super "sweet" snowman. This was by far the most fun for them because the kids were able to eat what they wanted off their snowman.
You may notice Ashton's blackish eye...this is the result of her bottle cap choker necklace hitting her while she was running....not sure exactly how but that is the story.
