Our BG...

I maybe should have titled this post about our Big Girl "Random" . These are just a few pictures that I wanted to document for their blog book so I decided to bust this out.

Ashton was sick with the flu on the first picture day so for the first time in her school career, she had to take her school picture on Retake Day. She was not alone...I am pretty sure a majority of the second grade class was doing retakes right along with her. This is the picture that will be in the yearbook {for some reason when I scanned it, the quality wasn't so great and my editing skills aren't so great either}...

And then for a completely un-related set of pictures...

Ashton's school does so many great things in teaching the kids about giving back and helping others in need especially at this time of year. Her school has adopted Angels every year since it opened when Ashton was in Kindergarten. Each class adopts a boy and a girl, plus the other non-classroom areas also adopt Angels. This year her school helped 65 angels....I am so impressed.

Ashton went with me when I went shopping for the clothing part of our donation. We donated clothes and a toy for the girl Angel her class adopted. I love being able to teach her how important it is to help others. I especially love how she took her time and really looked and chose what she thought the little girl wanted. That makes this momma so proud!

The Student Council at her school chose to help the Ronald McDonald house this year. They offered the kids a day to wear silly holiday socks and slippers for making a donation. Ashton was all over this. We sent in our donation and waited for her slippers/socks pass to come home in her folder.

Just before she left for school this morning I wanted to snap a quick pic. First I took one of just her socks and slippers. Then I wanted to get a full body shot. She wasn't so jazzed about that one as you can clearly see by the look on her face. She informed me that I don't always have to take a picture of "all of her". Plus Landry actually wanted her picture taken...she was even sitting and giving me her "picture smile" right next to her Big Sis jammies and all.

When I picked her up from school she informed me that no one else wore holiday or silly socks...they only wore slippers and people asked her all day why she was wearing those socks.
We truly love this Big Girl of ours. She is such a sweet girl with a big heart. We are so proud of her and are so glad we get to be her parents!
