Merry Christmas!

This morning we woke up just the four of us...and it was SNOWING! We were super excited to have a white Christmas. We had no plans to go anywhere...just spending the day in our jammies watching the girls play with their new stuff...together. (We are planning on going to Lorena in the morning to spend the weekend with my family).

Daddy and I woke up around 7ish when we heard a little voice on the monitor calling us. We got ourselves ready (per our assignments given by our BG) before we went in to get Lan-Lan P. Ashton very quickly heard us and came running into Landry's room. We got the girls ready then they waited for us to give them the "OK" to come out.

Here is what Santa left the girls...a scooter and American Girl Bed for Ashton and not one but two vacuums for Miss Landry plus a stocking full of goodies.

Daddy and I were waiting for the girls to come around the corner...and boy was it worth it. I was able to capture their reactions while Daddy got it all on video. Priceless...absolutely priceless.

They immediately checked out their goodies and looked through their stockings...

After we finished with our Santa stuff, we moved into the kitchen so Ashton could make sure Santa enjoyed the treats she left for him and read the letter he left for the girls. Landry wasn't interested in all that stuff so she "vacuumed" the kitchen floor with her new machine.

Then...Mommy and Daddy had a BIG gift for each of the girls in the guest room. Daddy went in first to get their reaction for when they walked in and saw their Anywhere Chairs...

Moving right along, I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast while Daddy and the girls passed out the presents. Once our bellies were full from our cinnamon rolls and sausage cheese balls we moved on to the present opening.

I am a bit disappointed with the pictures I took and how they came out. It seems that I really only got pictures of them opening presents and the lighting was awful. Not one picture of Mommy and Daddy, not one picture of us all together in our jammies...but the pictures I do have document our second Christmas with Landry as the Four Texas Bryces.

So excited to have a baby of her own...with hair....just like Sissy's...but age appropriate!

Very excited about the Bottle Cap Choker Necklace Making Kit

"borrowing" Sister's Santa hat that is almost as big as she is!

She LOVED this dress. She had to have it on practically before she got it out of the box. (She also loves "boooomers" since that is what I have been putting on her at naptime since she doesn't like to sleep with pants on, but can't not have anything covering her diaper while she sleeps.) She was twirling and twirling in her dress.

Ashton was so sure she wasn't getting a DS since Santa didn't bring it to her and she had asked him for it. She was beyond excited when she opened this. She has such genuine facial expressions when she opens gifts....I love it!

Landry kept climbing in her chair saying "take my picher" and we were happy to oblige. I take any chance I can to get pics of her sitting still at this age and actually wanting to be in a picture.

Snack time in their new chairs

Ashton is such a great big sister...she let her little sis "play" her DS....even though it was brand new...she let her play with it and Landry wasn't bothered that Ashton was helping her. This is one of my new favorite pictures of them.

We had a fantastic Christmas...we missed not being with our families, but they were in our thoughts and we enjoyed the phone calls. Christmas was more fun this year because Landry was able to participate and she "got it" a little better than she did last year.

I love the excitement in the girls' faces when they open their presents, but it also fills my heart with so much pride and joy to see them excited about the gifts we/they give other people. Watching them at Christmas is one of the many things I love about having children.

Merry Christmas!
