Our Littlest Girl is 21 Months...

It just so happens that as of the 7th, our Littlest Girl is 21 months old. It feels like it wasn't that long ago that I just finished her 20 month post. Three months until she is TWO!

It just so happens that when I needed take some pictures of her for this post {which is not easy these days since she is always busy} her first experience with Play-Doh was the perfect opportunity. This post is a "two for one" post!

*Landry is so busy...the thing that occupies her time these days is gathering "collections" of random things and storing them in the drawer of our end table. The funny thing is that she always knows where things are and always remembers what she has in the drawer.



*It amazes us how she can wake up one day and it's like she just decided to bust out with something new...whether it is a new word, a new skill, saying a word more clearly, or dropping a complete sentence on us.

*She says "I _______ fill in the blank with several different things. For example, she will say I got it, I dinner, I hep, I run-nee, I hode you, I cheee-oh, etc.

*The sweetest words we hear are "I LAW You" which translates to "I love you".

*When she is doing something she isn't supposed to {and she knows it} she will look at us with a sweet little smirk and wave to us with her cute little toddler hand. Then she very sweetly says "Hello".

*Speaking of doing something she isn't supposed to, she now goes to the corner on her own when it is necessary {we usually don't have to carry her there anymore} and she stays there. We have progressed to the point where we can set the timer for one minute. When she comes out and after we talk about what she did, she very sweetly says "I saw-ee" to whoever put her there or Ashton.

*She LOVES her Big Sis. They can actually play together and they have fun doing it since Landry can talk and is much more interactive. Their newest game to play is Hide and Seek. Landry only loves the counting part and the finding Ashton part. She doesn't quite understand the hiding part.

*I love the smile Landry gets on her face when she sees Ashton...I love how she calls her "Ah-eee"

*When we pick up Ashton from school, as soon as we get in the car, she will say to Ashton "You Day?". She wants to know how her Sissy's day was....love it!

* She loves to show us things. She will grab our hand and say "mon, mon" and drag us to where she wants to go. I love this. She usually wants us to get her something from the pantry or she wants us to watch her. She says "Wot, Wot"

*She likes to do things that are fun at least to her anyway. She pulls the cushion off of her rocking chair {this little trick is thanks to Big Sister who showed her how to do this} put it on the floor and jumps on it like it is a mini trampoline. She brought us in there to "wot" her. As she stood up there, she said "I jump....I fun".

*She is very good at using her manners. Excuse me to be exact. If you are in her way, or she burps or toots, she will say "kyoo me". I only wish I could type the inflection she has when she says it. She will do this one without prompting most of the time. We still have to remind a lot with please and thank you.

*She is a routine kid. She loves the structure of her routines and loves to tell us what it next especially at bedtime and meal times.

*She eats all the time! She is a bottomless pit and is a very good eater. She also loves to choose what she is going to have for her fruit, or snack, or lunch. I give her two choices and she chooses from those. At snack time, she likes to stand in the pantry and think about her choice before she gives it to me.

*She loves "The Cookie Touch" episode of Sesame Street. That is her fave right now and she wants to watch it all the time unless she wants a "mooo-ee" which is her Elmo's World Animals DVD. She even walks around singing "C is for Cookie, it's good enough for me".

*Speaking of singing, she loves to sing and her favorite song right now is "Row, Row, Row Your Boat". She will come up to us and grab our hands and want us to sing and row back and forth with her.

*She is getting so much better at counting. When she counts, she says "wuh, two, wee, foe, sit, ay, ten, uh-wen". She always skips five and now she thinks it is funny so she does it on purpose!

*She loves to point out shapes. In fact when I first put her on the mat so she could play with the play-doh, she couldn't get past all the "cirtles" .

*She LOVES to talk on the phone. If we are on the phone, it is like she has a radar and will make a beeline to us and say "I Tot, I Tot" until we let her talk. Thank goodness the people we talk to let her do it. When she talks to Jodi, she has to go through the list of people in the house and ask what Bill, Carly, and Ma-nee are doing.

*She will pick up anything that resemebles a phone and start talking on it. It is so neat to listen to her toddler babble and watch her facial expressions as she is talking!

*She still doesn't quite have all of her teeth yet. She is still missing the two on either side of bottom front teeth, but she is getting those last two bottom teeth....those sharp and pointy ones that hurt a bunch for a little girl! She does have all of her top teeth with the exception of her two year molars.

*She wears 18-24 months bottoms, 2T tops, size 6 shoe, size 4 diapers.

*She is still our "Smiley Girl" and smiles all the time.

*She can throw a mean temper tantrum when she doesn't get her way and hates to be ignored when she is doing it.
Landry Paige....we are so in love with you and your sister. We love watching you grow and develop into this precious toddler. We can't believe how fast you are growing up and wish we could slow it down. We are so happy you are in our lives. We are so blessed!
