Today Landry FINALLY got to go to the pumpkin patch with her friends! We had orginally planned to go a couple weeks ago with our StrollerFit group, but it was raining so we didn't go. With all that is going on and trying to find a day with no rain our trip got pushed back to today. {The man at the Pumpkin Patch said the most days of rain they have ever had in October was four he just marked the 14th!}
It was really, really cold and super muddy but since it was sunny and we thought we might not get another day we decided to brave it. I realized I didn't have a heavy coat that fit LP...NICE! So I bundled her up with several layers, a light jacket and sweater. She didn't care at all! She had a complete and total blast!
We drove out to the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch. I had never been there, but had heard fabulous things about it. We paid our $7 which got us a cup of food to feed the animals and a "Landry sized" pumpkin of her choice. We went with her friends Reese and Elyse. Reese is two months older than Landry and Elyse is a month younger than Landry. She loves her little friends and we had so much fun...here's our Punkin at the Punkin Patch...
{Elyse is on the left and Reese is on the right}
Then she discovered the cow {really a longhorn} and she was all over it. She got right up in it's face and was saying "Hi cow...hi cow....mooooo". This kid has absolutely no fear what-so-ever...it is going to take some getting used to on Mommy's part!
Feeding the goats was super fun...these goats were hungry since we were some of the first people there. They know how to grab the cup and tilt it up to get all the food out. Landry went through her cup pretty fast. Reese was a bit more protective of hers and after a while when Reese was over the animals, Miss Becky gave Landry Reese's s cup.
Landry and Reese decided they liked this rooster alot...they kept chasing it!
After the hay ride, it was time to let the girls loose to find their pumpkins. Do you have any idea how hard it is to take pictures, corral a toddler, and keep her from face-planting in the mud? It was no easy task. Frankly, I am amazed I got any pics at all. Poor Elyse fell in the mud a few times.
Landry was loving that she got to pick her own pumpkin. It was kind of tricky picking up a pumpkin with gloves on. She went through a few before she decided on "the one". Once we got it home, we gave it a bath because it was filthy. Then we set it up on her shelf in her room so she could admire it. She was so proud of her pumpkin.
And here is the "after" picture. The girls with their pumpkins.
We took 'em to the car stripped them down, took of muddy shoes and headed home. It was a fun day and I am glad we were able to go. I love hanging out with Landry's friends. I think these girls will be friends for a long time! It helps that I like their Mommies too!
