College Week...

Last week was "College Week" for Ashton. The entire district participates in "College Week" and each school does their own fun things. Each day was something different and the purpose was to get kids aware of college and to get them to set this goal at an early age. Here is a rundown of Ashton's week...

Monday~Dream Big/Go To College

The kids were to either bring in pictures, posters, etc. from their favorite college or parents' college to share during class. Asthon made this poster all by herself. We found these pictures from Baylor on the internet. She cut them out, glued them on, and decorated it. She was pretty proud of this and so was her Momma!

They also learned the importance of staying in school and watched President Obama's speech he gave to kids a few weeks ago. She thought that was pretty neat!

Tuesday~Dress Cool/Stay in School

The kids were to wear a college spirit shirt or Carroll Spirit wear. So Ashton of course wore her pink Baylor shirt and gave me a "Sic 'Em Bears" to go with it!Wednesday~Create Your Own Diploma

This was day we didn't need to dress a particular way....which was nice since we had to dress up each day last week too. The kids got to make their own diplomas. Everyday this week, some students went on the announcements to share why and where they want to go to college.

Thursday~Dress Like the Career You Want

This was a little tough for Ashton. She has several things she wants to be when she grows up and was worried since she couldn't decide on just one. She could't make up her mind, but she decided on being a veterinarian for all animals with four legs and fur.

Friday~FML Special Video

Ashton wore her Carroll Spirti shirt today and they had a special treat during FML. The teachers made a special video with pictures of them during their college years. It was fun for them to see the teachers in college.

So there you have it.....College Week was a success!
