This weekend Ashton got to spend the weekend by herself with Grammy and Grampy! She has done this in the past, but hasn't done it since Landry was born. Since Landry is still being breastfed, she wasn't able to go on this trip...but she will for the next one!We met Grammy, Auntie Megan and Parker about halfway and made the switcheroo. We got her loaded up in Grammy's car and they were off. They made a stop at Sonic to get a drink for the car ride to Lorena. That night was "Date Night" for Grammy and Grampy so she got to go to Texas Road House for supper with them. She loves Texas Road House...the deee-lish rolls with cinnamon butter, and the peanuts...top it off with a cheeseburger and she was in heaven!
Saturday morning Grammy made Ashton her all time favorite breakfast ever...pancakes in the shape of her initials...this is a Grammy original! Then they were off to pick up Auntie Megan and Parker. Grammy had a surprise for them...they went to the mall....and got to make a Build-A-Bear. Grammy let Ashton choose her bear, name it and pick out an outfit for her bear. Ashton chose a pink bear that she named Katee. Katee's outfit is a FANCY red dress with a red skirt and white on top with roses. The sparkly red shoes (think Dorothy's shoes from the Wizard of Oz) completed the outfit. The best part about Katee...when you press her paw, it plays the Hannah Montana song "Life is What You Make It". Again....Ashton was in heaven! Parker chose a brown bear that he named "Buddy". Buddy has white bear boxers and his paw plays lullabies.
They grabbed some lunch from Sonic on the way home and rested for a bit. She was going to have a busy, busy night. The Baylor Lady Bears had a game that night and Ashton was going to help Grammy at the game...very cool! She was decked out in her new dark pink Baylor shirt that she got for Christmas....she was set to go! After having her favorite meal ever...pizza for dinner she watched and helped Grammy at the game. The Lady Bears won....yipppeeee! After the game, Ashton and her cousin Brodie played and ran around the court at the Ferrell Center while Grammy finished things up. She was one tired and worn out little Baylor cub!
So Sunday we headed to Lorena to pick up our big girl, and for a "Family Lunch" instead of "Family Dinner" like the family usually does. We ate some very yummy food and way too much of it and hung out. We missed Grampy and Auntie Heather. (Oh how I wish we could do family dinner every Sunday! )
When we walked in the door, Ashton looked soooo tired. She had such a great time and loved being the center of Grammy and Grampy's attention. The girls zonked out before we even got on the interstate which is literally 3 minutes from my sister's house. They slept the entire way home and were both in bed by 7:00 and 7:30 tonight! I am sure Grammy and Grampy were just as tired...thanks for having her!
