*I have fixed the many errors I found...this after many times reading it and Bobby proofing it too. Sorry if you had to read it with all the mistakes!
We had her 9 month checkup today and she got an A+! When we got there, she was watching everything/everyone in the waiting room…even the fish tank with fake fish. I looked at it and thought "oh, they have fish". When I got closer, I noticed there were no bubbles, and nothing was moving. She didn’t care, she loved all the bright colors and new things to look at.
She was not afraid of Dr. Newton one bit. She was so curious and observant. In fact, that was one of the first things he asked us was if she was having any stranger anxiety. He isn’t used to seeing 9 month olds smiling at him and talking and playing and interested in him, so it was a nice change. She doesn’t have a bit of it right now…don’t worry I am knocking on every piece of wood around me! Ashton had it BAD…so maybe Landry won’t have it at all…I am keeping my fingers crossed!
She got her little finger pricked to check her iron level which was great and she got a flu shot too. She didn’t cry for either of them. She made more noise when the nurse was squeezing her finger to get enough blood for the iron reader.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 16 lbs. 14 oz ...25%
Height: 27.5 inches ...50-75%
Head: 17 inches...50 %

So Bobby and I get the Parents of the Year award…NOT!!! I can laugh about this now and share this only because she is okay, but we were both scared to death after this happened:
So after they pricked her finger they put a full size band-aid on her finger. And after her flu shot, they put the round band-aid on her upper thigh. So we get to the car and I take the big band aid off her finger...she was very curious about this particular band-aid, and of course she has to put everything in her mouth. We knew it wouldn't take her long to have that thing off of her finger and into her mouth. We didn't think to take the band-aid off her thigh. It was pretty high up almost touching her bloomers, and she was wearing a dress that was covering it so I didn’t think she would see it, or mess with it for that matter. Do you see where this is going?
So we pull out of the parking lot and don’t get very far down the road, Bobby is driving and we are talking. All of a sudden I hear her gagging. I look back and see that she is gagging on something but don't know what it is. He pulls over, flies out of the car (she is right behind him) and checks her out. I’m like “it’s not her band-aid is it?” He looks at her leg, it is not there!! He sticks his finger in her mouth and sweeps it, but it no band-aid. She is crying so we think she has swallowed it. I am crying and freaking out, Bobby however was very calm! Bobby says she is crying and coughing so this is a good thing. I am watching her and she is still whining and crying so he flips the car around and says we are taking her to the ER. By this time I have jumped in the back seat…right after he turns around, she throws up the band aid!! I have never been so happy to see her throw up!!
She was crying and so we got her out of her carseat and she was totally fine. She put her head on my shoulder for a second and then was fine. Two seconds later she was smiling. We were both FREAKED OUT!!! I thought my heart was going to come out of my chest and I was shaking so bad. It took us a lot longer to recover than it took her.
I cannot believe I didn’t take off both band-aids. I am kicking myself and do not know what I would do if it hadn’t turned out the way it did. I am usually over the top paranoid about these things. So here is a warning….ALWAYS TAKE OFF THE BAND-AIDS BEFORE YOU GET IN THE CAR!
We are so thankful she is fine…but what a scary thing to have happen! Needless to say...I will be watching EVERYTHING even more closely now!

ERIN! I never take off the bandaids until much later!! NO MORE! My heart was racing just reading that! Oh my goodness, that is horrible (and of course a little funny now that she's ok) - thank GOD she barfed up the bandaid. Mercy me, lesson LEARNED! Yay for the A+ checkup. :)
OH.MY.GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seriously...holy cow! i always take off the finger bandaid, but have never - not one time in 6 years of well-baby visits - taken off the leg bandaid! WHOA NELLY!!! i honestly would never have assumed that a 9 mo old could get it off!
i'm so glad that she is okay and that mommy and daddy survived! OOF!
on a happier note - so glad that she had a super great check-up! i'm not surprised! she is a super star, afterall!!! squeeze that girl from me! xo...
OMG...bless your heart! I will remember that when we go for our next doc visit!
Her pics are sooo cute....they are groeing up so fast!
So glad you were able to enjoy the fake fish tank as well! And so scary about the bandaid ... I have always been so paranoid about Blake choking on ANYTHING! Oh, and I love the pics in Landry's 9-month post ... so precious!
Oh my gosh that is so scary! I get so nervous about babies choking. UGH! So scary! I am glad she is okay. I know you had to be terrified. Thank goodness it all turned out just fine.
