We had Ashton’s party at our house this year for the first time. We usually host the 4th of July party at our house and I am not crazy enough to have 2 parties in one weekend so she usually picks a place to have her party. This year we were deciding between a paint-your-own-pottery place or home. She really wanted to have a piñata and we couldn’t have one at the painting place….so home it was!
She decided she wanted a “Fancy Nancy” party. Fancy Nancy is a character from a book that she absolutely loves. Fancy Nancy LOVES for everything to be fancy…the fancier the better. This character is so Ashton right now that it was the perfect party theme.
Ashton had two simple requests for her party…a piñata and a round cake (she has never had a round cake other than a cookie cake). She wanted the cake to be lavender with dark pink writing that said “Happy Birthday Ashton” and dark purple swirlys or dots or hearts on the side. The lady who made the cake even put a big bow and edible glitter on the cake.

The kids decorated tiaras with jewels and fancy cupcakes (made in ice cream cones instead of wrappers) with pink, purple, yellow, blue icing and sprinkles. They played “hot potato” with a pink ball while waiting for the pizza to arrive. We also read two of the Fancy Nancy books. The kids danced and played in Ashton’s room and they had a good time. Ashton was tha-rilled with her party.
decorating tiaras with jewels...Grayson had a king's crown
