Thursday, June 5 was her last day of Kindergarten. That day was kind of a crazy blur so I didn’t have much time to think about how she was ending a very big year and completing yet another milestone. As I dropped her off and watched her walk into the building, the emotions got to me. She has grown and changed so much and I know that is what she is supposed to do, but it is just happening so fast!
Anyway, they had a ”luau party” outside for their last day. They had 5 stations set up: tattoos, snow cones, hula outfit relay, limbo, and fishing. They had so much fun but it was very windy. Then there was a ceremony at the flag pole which we couldn’t stay for because it ran late and we had dance recital pictures.
That night we had a sleepover at our house since it was officially summer for all of the “kiddos”. Grayson and Anna had a sleepover at their house over spring break and we decided we would have the end of the year one at our house. So Grayson, Anna, and Macy came over for the fun. Ashton had chosen to have hot dogs (a fave for all the kiddos) and french fries for dinner. They had popsicles for dessert and played and played and played. They settled down to watch Toy Story and were asleep within 5 minutes of the ending. I had a really cute picture of them all in their sleeping bags…wish you see it but it was lost in the hard drive crash! They woke up at 7 am and quietly read books…actually they were all looking at their own books and Ashton was reading out loud to herself. They all put down their books and scooted closer to Ashton and listened to her read. I had a cute picture of this too…but it got zapped! I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and they took turns holding Landry…again I had a cute picture of this too but it got stolen! They had a blast and LOVED having them all over!
Here are some pictures from Ashton’s 1st day of Kindergarten…enjoy!

So there you go...we are so proud of our girl...she accomplished some great things this year! She got to go on two field trips: to Pumpkins on the Prairie and Safety City, got to dress as Fancy Nancy for Children's Book Week, had the 100th day, became a big sister, had 3 great parties at school, performed on stage three times, a Sock Hop, and many other activities. She got smiley faces in her folder each and every single day for her behavior, she was a leader in her class, and a student Mrs. Allen and others in the school could depend on. Many parents have told us how thier kids have come home saying how nice Ashton is to everyone. That makes us feel so good as parents because we know what a great kid she is!
