Family Fun Night

Ashton’s school had a “Sock Hop” for Family Fun Night on Friday. Each family was to dress up in clothes from the 50’s. They had a bubble gum bubble blowing contest and a hula hoop contest. Ashton was the winner for the Kindergarten hula hoop contest.

When looking to see how much a poodle skirt was I thought to myself…making a poodle skirt can’t be that hard, I can probably make her one cheaper than I can buy one. Well for a normal person who is an expert sewer that may be true but for me that wasn’t the case. If it hadn’t been for my friend Jill helping me to get started, there is no way I would have been able to do it. I recommend using felt in the future.

The poodle skirts are the reason I have blogged in over a week. That was my project and main focus after my sweet girls were in bed each night. I even made one for Landry…which made Ashton very happy. All the trips to the store and the time put in paid off because the girls did look cute and we got LOTS of comments and compliments on the girls and their skirts. We tried to put the scarf around Landry’s head but her head is too small so we had to put it around her neck instead.
